2 tbsp yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1 cup butter (two sticks)
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
Grated rind of 1/2 lemon
1 cup warm milk
4 to 5 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs (one at a time), add small amount of flour, put yeast in then add remaining flour, salt and lemon rind. Knead. Let rise until dough doubles in size. Roll out dough and cut out donuts. Fry in oil and roll in powdered sugar.
