2 c. flour
2 tp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
3/4 . butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. lite molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.
Grease a cookie sheet.
Sift flour and spices together.
Cream butter, sugar, egg and molasses until fluffy, then add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and combine.
Chill dough.
Roll into walnut-size balls, dip the balls in ice water, then roll them in sugar to coat.

Bake for 10 minutes on greased cookie sheet.

This recipe is from Grandma Goodrich. She would always make these cookies extra large and crispy so they had to be dunked in tea! They filled her elf cookie jar and were always on hand.
