3/4 c Crisco
1 c Packed Brown Sugar
1 Large Egg lightly beaten
1/4 c Molasses
2 1/4 c Flour
2 t Baking Soda
1 t Cinnamon
1 t Ginger
1/2 t Cloves
1/4 t Salt
White Sugar for dipping

Directions:
Directions:
Combine crisco and brown sugar in large bowl. Bear at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs and molasses. Beat until light and fluffy.

Combine flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt in medium bowl. Beat into shortening mixture at low speed until well blended.
Chill 3 hours or overnight.

Shape mixture into 1" balls dip one side in white sugar. Place sugar side up on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.
Bake 350* 12min.
