1 cup shortening (not butter flavored)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
2. Add flour, cr. of tartar and soda.
3. Flour an area of your counter.
4. Place a small ball of dough onto the floured counter (approx. 3-4 inch round)
5. Flour your rolling pin and roll dough out to approximately 1/8-1/4 inch.
6. Flour your cut outs and place onto the rolled out dough and remove.
7. Using a floured spatula remove them from the dough and place them on a greased cookie sheet.
8. Roll up dough remaining on the counter and add additional dough to get back to the 3-4 inch ball.
9. Bake at 350 for approximately 8 minutes.
