1/2 c. soft butter (can use part shortening)
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 c. quick rolled oats
1/4 c. chocolate chips
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º F.

Beat butter, sugars, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy. Blend in flour, baking powder, salt, and spices. Then stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Spread in ungreased 9" square pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until light brown.

Cool before cutting into bars. Makes 16-24, depending on how big you cut the bars.
