1 cup water
2 heaping tablespoons yeast
2 teaspoons sugar

6 cups flour
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 cup instant mashed potatoes

4 cups lukewarm water
3/4 cup shortening and lard mixed (melted)

Directions:
Directions:
Let water, yeast, and sugar stand 10 minutes.

Mix flour, salt, and instant potatoes. Add warm water and shortening. Then add yeast mixture. Mix, and beat well.

Let rise 35 minutes. Punch down, and let rise again. When doubled, shape into buns or kringel. Let rise again until doubled.

Bake at 400º for 25 minutes.
