Ingredients:
Ingredients:
To each 15oz. can Van Camp’s Pork and Beans add....(drain off some of the liquid first)
1/4 C. ketchup
1/4 C. brown sugar
1/8 C. dark karo syrup
chopped onion (as much as you like maybe 1/2 onion or so)
slices of bacon, (as many as you want 6-7 or so) fried and crumbled
....may also add a few drops of liquid smoke or a little bar-b-q sauce in place of some of the ketchup. Dress it up however you like.

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all together and put in small oven proof bowl and Bake 1 hour, 350 Degrees.
Or just put it all in a pan and heat it through on the stove or
microwave it. It just basically needs to be heated through. But I do like to bake it for an hour. Seems to blend the flavors better. Just depends on how much time you have.
So you can make this recipe as big as you want.....double, triple, or whatever.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Granny says....This is one of my original recipes I made up many years ago when I was first married. It was always a big hit at all the Nurre get-togethers. I started out just putting raw bacon on top of the beans before baking.....NOT such a good idea as it wouldn’t completely cook the bacon and it ended up limp and soggy bacon, but don’t ever remember any leftovers in the dish....oh those Nurres... : ) and don’t ever remember hearing of any one getting sick on my beans, ha.....But now please cook and crumble bacon first.... : ) Live and learn, experiment...You kids have grown up on these beans and think you still love them especially with ribs or steak and baked potato....yumm
