1 med. onion, chopped
1 med. jalapeno, seede and chopped
2-3 garlic cloves, mashed
1 T. corn oil (I use canola oil)
1 (16-oz.) can stewed tomatoes
6 c. chicken broth (or bouillon cubes in 6 cups water)
1 can tomato coup
pinch sugar
1 t. ground cumin
1 t. chili powder
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
2 t. Worcestershire
Tabasco to taste
1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
5 c. tortilla chips, broken
2 lg. limes
2-3 lg. avocados, chopped or sliced

Directions:
Saute onion, jalapeno, and garlic in oil until limp. Add tomatoes, chicken broth, and tomato soup. Stir thoroughly. Add sugar, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, and Tabasco. Simmer 1-1 1/2 hours, uncovered, over low heat.
To serve, place cheese in bottom of soup bowl; sprinkle tortilla chips on top; ladle soup over all; sprinkle with lime juice and top with avocados.
