Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 # ground beef,( the higher the fat content, the better flavor, you will drain it anyway,
and it is cheaper)
1/2 C. diced onion or more to taste. I use nearly whole onion
1 15-16 oz. can Bushes chili beans (or kidney beans) un-drained
1 15-16 oz can diced tomatoes with garlic, basil, oregano (or plain) un-drained
1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1 package hot chili seasoning mix (or regular)
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat and onions, drain, add remaining ingredients.
Cover, simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally
Top with cheddar cheese if desired.
Only about 4 servings, may want to double batch.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Granny says...I found this recipe many years ago in my old Kraft cookbook, circa 1977....I have made it through the years and have tired many other chili recipes, but always come back to this one. I have tweaked it here and there, you can use any kind of beans, chili, or kidney or pinto. Sometimes when I double the batch, I use 1 # hamburger and 1 # Jimmy Dean sausage or any type sausage and I will use two different beans, one whole onion will do for double batch. And it is good idea to double the batch, as it doesn’t make a very big batch. When reheating it, you can add a tiny bit of water if it gets too thick.
