4 c. flour, unsifted, spooned lightly into cups
1 T. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 T. white or cider vinegar
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
Make sure the flour is unsifted and that you measure it by lightly spooning the flour into the measuring cup.

Combine flour, sugar and salt. Mix well.

Add shortening and mix until crumbly.

In a small bowl beat together 1/2 c. water, egg and vinegar.

Combine until all ingredients are moist.

Divide and shape into balls. Flatten slightly. Wrap in wax paper and freeze until ready to use.
