1cup butter
1 lb. (2 1/2 cups) brown sugar
dash salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy 3 qt. pan. Add sugar and salt, stirring good. Stir in corn syrup, mixing well. Gradually add milk stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (245 degrees) 12 to 14 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9X9 pan. Cool and cut into squares. Add 2 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate with milk.

This recipe was given to me by your Aunt Linda. I love making it for you grandkids. It is kind of tricky getting it to the right temperature until you've made it a few times, then you can tell by the way it looks. No matter, however. If not cooked enough, it makes a fine caramel sauce. If cooked too long, it makes a good Slo-Poke.
