Directions:Place the green beans with the liquid in a sauce pan along with the bacon and onion, salt and pepper. Cook on low to medium heat for at least an hour (I know this sounds crazy but that is the way Mom did it). Notes: It seems that Mom liked things to be well done whether it was vegetables or meat. She also liked to cook with bacon and bacon grease since she made breakfast for Dad every morning using bacon grease for the eggs, etc. She even fried my pancakes in bacon grease and boy were they good. My children recall that at our home during their formative years there was a #10 can of bacon grease on the stove that we used for all cooking. MMM Boy, Good and Healthy?
