2 lbs. lean ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 14-oz. jar of spaghetti sauce
1 16-oz. can stewed tomatoes
1 3 oz. can sliced mushrooms
8 oz. small shells
1 1/2 pint sour cream
1/2 lb. shredded provolone cheese
1/2 lb. shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:
Brown beef and drain excess fat. Add onion, and garlic and cook until softened. Add spaghetti sauce, stewed tomatoes and mushrooms. Mix well. Simmer 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cook pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cold water. Mix shells with meat mixture. Put half meat and shell mixture into large baking bowl. Spread half of the sour cream over bottom layer and top with provolone cheese. Pour rest of meat and shell mixture and spread sour cream. Top with mozzarella cheese. Cover and bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes. Remover cover and bake until cheese is melted and lightly browned.

This came from a cookbook Pat Z. gave me for Christmas in 1974. It is a recipe that Jim and I love. It transports easily, so it's perfect for a potluck or to deliver to another family. I take it to work too and everyone loves it.
