2 cups sugar
1 stick margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup evaporated milk
2 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup-1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, margarine, salt and milk in a heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute after mixture comes to a rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add oatmeal, vanilla, butterscotch chips and pecans. Drop by spoon onto wax paper to cool.
