1 C Shortening
1 C Sugar
1 C Brown Sugar
1/2 C Sour Milk (1 C milk + 1/2 tsp vinegar- let sit a few minutes- will start to curdle)
2 Large Eggs
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
3 C Flour
6 Shredded Wheat Biscuits


Directions:

Cream sugar & shortening in mixer; add eggs; mix until smooth.
Stir in salt, soda, vanilla; mix well.
Preheat oven to 350º
Crush Shredded Wheat Biscuits; add to flour; stir into creamed mixture.
Dough will be thick. Spoon onto cookie sheet 2" apart.

Bake 10-12 min until light brown on bottom.
*May substitute 2 cups oatmeal for shredded wheat cereal.

This is my all time favorite cookie. Love the crunch and the distinctive taste.
Not sure where the original recipe came from but almost all my favorite recipes come from my mom so I'll credit her with one too.
