Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Crisco
1 cup oil
2 eggs
4 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first four ingredients; beat well. Add eggs and beat well. Mix the remaining ingredients. Roll into balls and flatten on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Can roll in sugar before flattening or sprinkle with coarse sugar after flattening. Can sprinkle with colored sugar before baking.

I don't usually ice these cookies or use them for shaped cookies. They are amazingly crisp and melt in your mouth. They also make a large batch.
