1/2 c. Unsalted Butter
1 c. All-purpose flour
2 c. Sugar - divided
Pinch of salt
4 c. Fresh peaches slices
1 tbsp. Lemon juice
1 c. Milk
Ground cinnamon or nutmeg

Melt butter in a 13x9 inch baking dish
Combine flour, 1 c. sugar, baking powder, and salt, add milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour batter over butter (do not stir)
Bring remaining 1 c. sugar, peach slices, and lemon juice to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Pour batter over peaches and butter (do not stir). Sprinkle with cinnamon, if desired. Bake at 375º for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and serve.
