7 large eggs
1/2 lb. butter, melted & slightly cooled
7 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 T. vanilla

Glaze--combine:
lemon or orange juice
2 cups confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 400º

Beat together eggs and sugar until light and lemon colored (at least 5 minutes.) Add melted butter. Gradually add flour & baking powder. Mix well.

Roll lumps of dough into ropes. Shape into twists, "pretzel" or "donut" shapes, whatever you like. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets until lightly browned. (12-15 minutes) You may glaze cookies while warm or cool.

Make a glaze mixing at least 2 cups confectioners sugar and tiny amounts of juice to make a very thin icing. This is a matter of preference. Place a rack over dish to catch drips. Put a few cookies at a time on the rack and spoon glaze over. Cookies will dry in a few minutes. Repeat until all cookies are glazed. (glaze that has dripped into dish should be reused)
