Ingredients: 4-5 Tomatillos 4 jalapeņos (Brendan and Lesa's recipe calls for 4 jalapeņos. I only use 1 because I don't like it too spicy) 1 Anaheim pepper (I use 2) 1 small can diced green chilis (use Hatch chilis when possible) 2 large cans (29 oz) whole, peeled tomatoes (I use 3) Cilantro (I use about 1/3 bunch) 3 garlic cloves 2-3 Tbsp chili powder 1 Tbsp salt 1 1/2 tsp sugar

Directions:Boil tomatillos, jalapeņos and Anaheim peppers until tomatillos are translucent. Pour the juice from one can of tomotoes in blender. Add tomatillas and garlic. Blend well. Add cilantro. Blend well. Pour this in a large bowl. Pour the juice from the second can of tomoatoes in the blender. Cut the stem ends off the Anaheim and jalapenio peppers. Put peppers and green chilis in blender. Blend well. Pour into the large bowl. Add tomatoes a few at a time to the blender and chop to desired consistency. Add to bowl. Add chili powder, salt and sugar to salsa. Stir until blended. |
