In large bowl combine:

1 cup cut roasted almonds
4 cups flour
3 Tbls. baking powder
2 tsp. cloves
½ tsp. cinnamon
rind of an orange
1 ½ cup sugar
1 (12 oz.) pkg. choc. chips
2 squares melted chocolate
3 heaping T. crisco or butter
3 eggs

Directions:
In large bowl, combine dry ingredients.Melt 2 squares chocolate in 1 cup coffee, 3 Tbls. (heaping) crisco. When cool add 3 beaten eggs. Add to flour mixture and mix. Let
stand 15 mins. Take handful of dough, form large cigar shape and
cut diagonal pieces with sharp knife and bake at 400 degrees about
10 mins. (Do not overcook.)
