Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
2 cups cooked macaroni
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 clove garlic (split in 4 places)
1 #2 can tomatoes, chopped, with juice
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt.

Directions:
Directions:
Crumble and brown meat in heavy skillet. Drain off most of the fat, leaving a small amount for flavor. Add tomatoes, onions, macaroni, salt, pepper, and garlic. Mix well and add 1 cup water. Reduce heat and allow to cook until most of the liquid has been absorbed, but do not cook down dry. This is the basic recipe for Gee Whiz, but if you want to make it for company, or to suit your own taste, add any or all of the following ingredients: 1/2 cup chopped green peppers, 1/2 cup sliced celery, one small can mushroom pieces, chopped. 6-8 chopped or slice ripe olives. Also, left over macaroni and chees can be used in equal amounts for the cooked macaroni; left over noodles or spaghetti also works well. If you prefer more spice, just add one or two Tbs. of red salsa to your taste.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
"This dish has been called "Gee Whiz" for at least 3 decades because Daddy could never remember the original name for it. The name Gee Whiz is now used by four generations of our Family" Peggy Smith, original cookbook.

"Now it is at least 5 or 6 generations... a while back I made a packaged mix that was basically this, but called something else... Kristen asked me what it was and I told her... she tasted it and said " No Mom, this is Gee Whiz..." Sheila
