1.5 lbs Chicken cubed in 1" pieces
2 bay leaves
3 - 4 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
15 (or so) whole peppercorns
1/2 C White Vinegar
3/4 C shoyu
1 C water
1 Sweet Onion (rough chopped)
3 cubed Yukon Gold potatoes (skin on)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown chicken in a bit of Olive (or other cooking) oil.
Then add remaining ingredients. Reserve potatoes.
Bring to boil and then simmer for 1 hour.
Add potatoes for the last 20 mins or so.
Can simmer longer for more tender chicken.
Serve with rice.

I modified it slightly from Granny's actual recipe, you can play with the amounts of shoyu/vinegar/water to suit your taste. Use anykine chicken cuts you like. Breasts tend to be drier but leaner. Make sure to pronounce the word Vinegar "Vee NEE gah", as Granny would.
