1 c. margarine
2 c. white sugar
3 c. plain flour
4 eggs
1 c. milk or water
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp each of lemon and vanilla extract
pinch salt

cream margarine sugar and egg yolks
sift baking powder, salt and flour together
add alternately with liquid
add flavorings
fold in stiffly beaten egg whites last
bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/4 hours
test with toothpick
