3 or 4 potatoes
1 T margarine or butter
Chopped onion (optional)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 egg yolk
Flour

Directions:
Directions:
Chop potatoes and onion (sometimes I add some shredded carrot).. Put in medium sauce pan. Just cover with water. Cook until potatoes are soft. Add margarine and salt and pepper. Add milk to fill pan.continue to heat but do not boil. Beat egg yolk in small bowl, sprinkle with salt. Add flour until it is crumbly - like little dumplings. Add dumplings (rivels) to soup and cook until they set up - just a few minutes. Serve.
