1 lb small red or golden potatoes
2 1/2 cups frozen peas
1/4 c butter, cubed
1 green onion, sliced
1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
Dash of pepper
2 c milk
Directions:
Directions:
Scrub and quarter potatoes. Place in a large pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 mins.
Add peas, cook 5 mins longer until veggies are tender
Meanwhile, in another lg sauce pan, melt butter and add onion. Sauté until tender.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper until blended.
Gradually add milk and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, 1-2 mins or until thickened.
Drain potatoes and peas and toss with sauce. Serve immediately

Wayne's Grandmother, Hope Wintch, served these to us when we were visiting right after we had been married. I thought they were glorious. Every time I make them, or se them, I think so fondly of her. Not a fancy recipe but she was not a fancy lady. But warm, and comforting and filling...both the food and Gramma
