2/3 cup of sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp flour
3 cups whole milk
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/2 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix in heavy saucepan--sugar, salt, cornstarch and flour, then gradually stir in the milk
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Let boil one minute and remove from heat. Stir at least one cup of the hot mixture into the slightly beaten egg yolks, then blend all back in saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil another minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and blend in 1 1/2 Tbsp butter and 1 1/2 tsp vanilla. Let cool
Pour into baked pie shell
Finish with whipped cream topping or meringue
