1 cup Milk
1 cup heavy cream
6 medium to large baking potatoes, peeled ad sliced 1/2 inch thick
1 tsp chopped garlic
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 and 1/2 cups shredded gruyere or other swiss cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk and cream to simmer. Add sliced potatoes and cook until barely fork tender. Add garlic, nutmeg and stir to blend.
Remove from heat and stir in grated cheese, salt and pepper. Pour mixture into buttered casserole dish and bake uncovered at 350º for approx. 45 minutes.
