1/2c pecan pieces, toasted and coarsely chopped.
1-6oz. ready to fill Chocolate flavored crumb crust

Carmel Layer- 17 individual wrapped square caramels(5oz, 3/4c)
1/4c canned evaporated milk(not sweetened condensed)

Truffle Layer- 1/2c(90z)semi-sweet chocolate chips
1c heavy whipping cream
3tbsp stick butter
(for decoration: slightly sweetened whipped cream)

Sprinkle pecans on crust.

Carmel layer: put caramels in a bowl with evaporated milk.
Microwave, stirring every 10 sec., until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.
Note: this step can be done in a double boiler, no counting, no burning!
Pour over pecans.

Truffle layer: Heat chocolate chips, cream and butter in a bowl in the microwave(or double boiler) stirring every 10 sec. until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
Pour over carmel layer.
Refrigerate about 4 hrs., until set.

To serve: pipe or spoon whipped cream around edge of pie. (it's a bit of trouble, but your guests will enjoy it!)
