3 med. turnips
1 1/2 lbs. cubed beef (or more)
2 tsp. oil beef cubes in stock pot
2 parsnip, sliced
4 med carrots
3 stalks of celery sliced
2 large potatoes
2 med onions
4 oxo cubes or 3 tbsp. oxo powder
1 can of cambells tomato soup
water

Directions:
Directions:
Fry beef cubes in stock pot until browned then fry onions with the beef till they are soft. Add 1 litre of water and tomato soup. Add in the parsnip and turnips then simmer slowly covered for 1 hour or more.
Add in the rest of the vegetables (except potatoes) and oxo. Make sure to add enough water to just cover everything. Cook 10 minutes more then add the potatoes.

For all of Leona Chubaks family this was most likely the one of most memorable meals for all of us. We have all tried to copy it and although we have come close we really have never perfected it. She used to serve it over slice of well buttered bread.
