1/2 cup unsalted butter softened, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1 large egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 cup unbleached all purpose flour, !/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/8 tsp salt, 1 Tbsp milk, 3/4 cup confectioners sugar, 20 Candy Cane Hershey Kisses

using mixer cream butter for 20 seconds on med speed, Add sugars with mixer running on med speed. Cream till light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Scrape down sides of bowl as needed. Mix dry ingredients, add to wet ingredients on low speed. beat in milk on med speed till combined. Dough will be thick and sticky. chill 2 hours. Preheat oven to 350º. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. set aside. Roll dough into balls little more that a Tbsp each. Then roll each in confectioners sugar heavily. Bake 10-11 min. DO NOT OVER COOK. Cookies will appear undone and soft. allow to cool 5 min on baking pan. Press Hershey's Kiss in each center and immediately put in freezer for 5 min to keep Kiss from melting. Store tightly covered up to 1 week, Freeze up to 2-3 months.
