Tip: I have made many variations of this recipe, another good way to make this is to fill the pan half full, then sprinkle a good amount of sugar and cinnamon on top of the batter and then cover and place the cinnamon and sugar on top with chopped walnuts.
Note: This recipe was created by Inez Pardy, Bunta’s mom
She lived to be just shy of 104, she was a very funny cook, you never know what you were getting when it came to eating in Madison, South Dakota, she would scrap off the mold on Top of the food , and warm it up saying dinners ready. Although She was a very hard working woman, she was not the best cook. Minus a couple great recipes.
When she created this recipe the sour cream was just that soured cream,. she was one who lived the “ good life” until the oil industry ran Grandpa ( James) out of business, and so Grandma did what she could to save money and part of that was no food went wasted, just because mold was on top did not mean it was not good underneath .
