2 cans Van Camp's pork and beans
1/3 cup light brown sugar (add more if you like them really sweet)
1/2 to 3/4 cup Del Monte Catsup
3 slices bacon cooked slowly - reserve bacon drippings
3/4 cup chopped onion




Directions:
Directions:
Mix first three ingredients in a casserole dish. Sauté bacon until nearly done and set aside.
Add onions to bacon drippings and sauté until lightly browned.
Mix onions into beans and place on top of beans.
Bake at 350º for one hour or until bubbly and slightly thickened.

*For an interesting twist on this beloved recipe use one can of red kidney beans and one can of pork and beans
