1 c. melted shortening
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Date Filling
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. dates and a little water

OR
Rasin Filling
1 c. rasins
1 c. brown sugar and butter
Directions:
Directions:
Cake
Mix together ingredients and press into pan (1/2 of mixture)
Put filling per top of them. Add remaining crumbs mixture on top.

Date Filling
Mix brown sugar, dates, and water. Cook until thick.

Rasin Filling
Cook raisins in water for 20 minutes. Add brown sugar and butter. Thicken with cornstarch.
