Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Crust:
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. sugar
2-3 c. flour, may use some whole wheat flour if desired (2/3 cup)
(I also added about 2/3 cup oil)
Sauce:
1 sm. onion, chopped
2-8 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
salt, sugar, parsley, sweet basil, oregano, thyme, garlic to taste.
(Italian seasoning may be used)
pepperoni
other desired ingredients
Mozzarella cheese
Parmesan cheese
Cornmeal

Directions:
Directions:
For the crust:
Put together the yeast and warm water and allow for yeast to work. Scald milk and add cooled scalded milk to yeast along with salt, sugar. Add flour to the desired consistency. Then, if desired, add some oil as stated above. (Original recipe did not call for this, but I think it makes dough easier to work with.)
Allow dough to rise in warm place for 1 hour.
For sauce:
Saute the onion in butter or olive oil. Add the tomato sauce and tomato paste. Add the spices until the desired flavor is achieved.
To assemble pizza:
Grease pan and sprinkle with corn meal. Spread crust onto pizza pan and sprinkle with garlic salt. This crust will be very thick in a 12 in. pizza pan. A cookie sheet will make a thinner crust. May bake crust a bit before adding ingredients to assure it gets done and crispy. Put desired amount of sauce mixture on the crust and top with cheese, pepperoni, other ingredients and then more cheese. Top with Parmesan. Bake at 425º in preheated oven until desired doneness.
