1 1/2 cups seedless raisins
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shorting
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer raisins in water until all water is absorbed, set aside to cool. Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs and vanilla. Beat thoroughly, sift togetherrr dry ingredients, except last sugar and add to creamed mixture. Sir in raisins.

Roll dough in 1 inch balls, roll in sugar. Place balls 2 in apart on greased cookie sheets, flatten with bottom of sugar dipped glass. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes until lightly browned.

Great Tip - Use a drinking glass bottom to flatten cookie and press with sugar :)
