3 eggs
2 cups brown sugar (white, if preferred)
1 cup butter or other shortening
Nutmeg to flavor
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 to 3 cups flour

Directions:
Beat eggs, and add sugar, butter, and nutmeg. Sift baking soda and flour together, stir in enough to make a soft dough. Use the remainder to roll lightly. Roll thin and cut with small cutter. Bake in a hot oven till lightly browned.
