Devil Dogs:
2 c flour
1 c sugar
½ c cocoa
½ t salt
½ t baking powder
½ t baking soda
1 egg
½ c Crisco shortening
1 c milk
1 t vanilla
* Double Batch makes 3 ½ dozen. Do not double salt.

French Filling:
½ c evaporated milk
2/3 c Crisco shortening
½ c sugar
¼ t salt
1 t vanilla
* May use Lincoln Log filling instead

Directions:
Directions:
Mix devil dog ingredients together in large mixing bowl. Drop by t onto ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 425° for 5 -7 minutes. Let cool.

Beat french filling ingredients for 5 minutes on high speed. Spread filling between two devil dogs.
