2 c flour
2 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
½ t salt
½ c Crisco shortening
½ c firmly packed brown sugar
½ c sugar
3 T cold water
2 egg yolks
1 t vanilla
½ c semi sweet morsels

For meringue:

2 egg whites
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients with shortening and sugar alternately with 3 T cold water, 2 egg yolks and 1 t vanilla.

Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan.

Press in ½ c semi sweet morsels.

For meringue:

Beat 2 egg whites until foamy. Add 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar and beat until stiff. Spread meringue over dough.

Bake at 325° for 30 – 35 minutes.
