Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground meat
salt & pepper to taste
1/4 - 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
2 - 8 oz. cans of tomato sauce (Lately I have used more than this to make it a little juicier. Last time I used a 15 oz can + an 8 oz can.)
1 pt. sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature for easier mixing)
1 bunch green onions - chopped
1 - 12 oz. pkg egg noodles
cheddar cheese - grated (enough to cover top of casserole)
salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350.

Cook the noodles according to package directions.

Brown ground meat in skillet. Season to taste with salt & pepper & a little oregano. Add tomato sauce. Simmer a few minutes.

Meanwhile, mix in a bowl the sour cream, cream cheese, and chopped green onions.

Grease a large casserole dish with butter. Layer in dish, starting with the noodles, then the sour cream mixture, then the meat sauce. There should be enough for 3 layers of each.

Top with grated cheese. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350º.

Kete gave me this recipe in 1976. It had no name, so I gave it hers. We have enjoyed it many times over the years, and naturally I think of her every time I make it.

This makes a large amount. I use my large, square Corning Ware dish. It's even better the next day! Just zap a serving in the microwave.
