3/4 cup + 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 cup water, hot
2-1/2 cups flour
2-1/2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup butter, soft, broken
1/3 cup water, room temp
4 eggs, room temp
1-1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
1. Whisk cocoa and hot water until dissolved. COOL to room temperature.
2. Combine flour, sugar, salt, and soda in mixer bowl with flat paddle.
3. Add butter to dry ingredients in mixer.
4. Mix. For 1 minute or until mixture looks like crumbs.
5. Add room temp water while mixing for 1 minute.
6. Add eggs and vanilla to cocoa mixture. Add slowly while mixer is running: 2 minutes.
7. Scrape bowl and paddle.
8. Continue mixing on low speed for 2 minutes.
9. Pour batter into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly pressed in center.
10. Cool and frost.
