1 cup warm water
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. traditional yeast

5 cups warm water
1 cup lard, melted
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. salt
4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup flax
1/2 cup shelled sunflower seeds
6-8 cups white flour, approx. (enough to make a soft dough)

Directions:
In small bowl, dissolve sugar in 1 cup of lukewarm water. Sprinkle yeast and stir slightly. Let rise 5-10 minutes. In a large bowl mix water, lard and eggs. Add salt, flax, sunflower seeds, and yeast mixture. Mix well. Add whole wheat flour. Mix. Gradually add the white flour, mixing and then kneading to make a soft dough. Let rise until double in bulk. Punch down and let rise again until double in bulk. Shape into loaves and put into greased loaf pans. Let rise till double in bulk. Bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes.(depending on your pan size)
