1c. sugar
1c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1c. butter
1 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
31/2c.flour
1c.rolled oats
1c coconut
1c crisp rice cereal1c. nuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 ungreased sheets
In a large bowl combine 1st 9 ingredients and beat until smooth. Add flour and beat 1 minute more until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients.

drop by rounded tsp. 2 in apart. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10-14 minutes until light golden brown. Remove from pan to cool.

I add chocolate chips to this recipe for delicious crisp choc chip cookies. I usually make some with basic recipe without the nuts, add nuts for a 2nd variety, chocolate chips for a 3rd, peanut butter for a 4th and everything for a 5th.
