3/4 c. sweet butter
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c all purpose flour, sifted

Icing:
2 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. milk, more if needed
food coloring
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Mix the 1st 5 ingredients with a blender until creamy. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add slowly in 3 parts to wet mixture until blended well. Chill dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour, before handling. Heat oven to 375º. Roll out dough to 1/4" thick on a lightly powdered sugar sprinkled counter top. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 8 mins. until lightly browned.


In a bowl add powdered sugar, vanilla and 1 tbsp. milk stir together. If too thick add more milk 1 tsp. at a time until a thick glaze consistency is reached. Split icing in several small bowls and color each with food coloring. Decorate cookies.
