Your choice of green beans rather, canned, self canned or frozen. Cook according to the directions adding fat back ( I use olive oil for a healthy version)

After green beans are done boil ALL the water out stirring along the way. Once the water is gone place green beans in a cast iron pan and scorch them. If you don't have a cast iron you can help them in the pot you cook in and scorch them in that. Grandma always said green beans are not good unless they are scorch. Her green beans were on high demand at EVREY church function. At her death I gave her secret to church members.
