4 c unsifted all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c vegetable shortening (DO NOT USE OIL, LARD, BUTTER, OR MARGARINE)
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 large egg
1/2 c water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, sugar, salt. Add shortening.
In a small bowl, beat the water, vinegar, and egg.
Combine the two mixtures, stirring with a fork until all ingredients are damp.
Divide into 4 or 5 portions and shape in a flat round patty.
Wrap each patty in plastic and chill at least a half an hour.

Can be frozen.
