¾ cup Crisco
1 ½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup sour milk
2 ¼ cup flour, sifted
1 cup prunes, cooked, cooled, and chopped
¾ tsp each of baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice

Icing
2 cups confectioner sugar
½ tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
2 tbs butter
2 tbs prune juice, bit more if needed

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs; then chopped cooled prunes. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the mixture alternately with sour milk. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes in greased 8” layer pans.

Beat icing until creamy and spread on cake.
