1 cup shortening or margarine
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk (to make mix milk plus 1 tsp vinegar)
3/12 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup each chopped dates, raisins, candied pineapple and candied cherries
1 cup walnuts chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, brown sugar and eggs. Stir in milk. Blend flour, soda and salt; stir into mixture. Add to cookie mix cherries, raisins, dates, pineapple and walnuts.

Drop onto greased cookie sheet 2 in. apart. Bake at 400 for 8-10 min.
