1/4 lb softened butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until sugar is dissolved, add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Beat well.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt to creamed mix.

Grease tube pan and add half of batter.
Combine sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle half of cinnamon and sugar over batter; add remaining half of batter and spread as evenly as possible. Put remaining sugar and cinnamon mix over top.
Bake at 350º for 45 mins.

Let rest on cooling rack for 10 mins before turning out.

I have been making this coffee cake since I first encountered the recipe when I was at Boston University thirty years ago. I have often made it for a coffee hour with friends. Ian loves it so I usually make it for his birthday. It keeps well if it stays around that long.
