1 lb flour
4 tsp. baking powder
4 oz margarine
4 oz sugar
4 oz raisins
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and baking powder together.
Rub in the margarine until fine crumbs.
Add sugar and stir in.
Add milk and mix well until at dropping consistency.
Stir in raisins.
Bake in tablespoon sized "lumps" on greased baking sheet for 15-20 minutes at 325F.
Cool on cooling rack

Granny Stella made these often. Best eaten warm, with butter and jam. Can substitute cranberries for raisins. For savoury scones use 4oz grated cheese instead of sugar and raisins.
