1c, unsalted butter
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs,
1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp baking soda
1tsp salt
1 1/2 c. broken pecans
2 c.candied cherries, halved
2 c. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and eggs well. Stir in sour milk. Blend dry ingredients together and stir in wet mixture.
Stir in pecans, cherries and dates.
Chill at least one hour.
Heat oven to 400. Drop heaping teaspoons of dough about 2 " apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. ( I use parchment paper on the sheet.)

Bake at 400 F for 8-10 mins or until almost no imprint remains when lightly touched.

These are tender cookies with a lot of flavor. Keep well too. I usually freeze them and take them out a few at a time to thaw.
Of course you may need to padlock your freezer but that's entirely up to you!
